    We focus on molecular materials with interesting supramolecular, photo-/electrochemical and catalytic properties. We aim to harness these properties to develop chemical systems that can: i) recognise and transport chemicals for analytical and separation applications, ii) efficiently catalyse crucial reactions for improving process sustainability, and iii) can use energy input from electricity or light to perform reactions as related to the conversion of solar and electric energy into chemical energy vectors.     Our research interests focus on development of enzymes on emissions of bioenergy, biorefinery, bioremediation, functional bio-products, and carbon neutral issues. Aims to establish and discover novel genes thought proteomics and artificial intelligence (AI) approaches.
    The platforms include whole genome sequencing and analysis, high throughput proteomic screening, genetic and protein engineering, CRISPR/Cas9 system, metabolic engineering, and synthetic biology. Our current research topics include:

Research/Areas of Interest:

    Dr. Yueh-Heng Li’s research interests encompass electric propulsion, micropower systems, advanced combustion science, and laser diagnostics. In electric propulsion, our work includes pulse plasma thrusters, vacuum cathode arcs, ion thrusters, and Hall effect thrusters. Additionally, we are actively developing plasma measurement systems.
    In advanced combustion science, our focus lies on metal combustion, particularly iron, and ammonia combustion. This research aims to advance carbon-free power systems and investigate the combustion mechanisms of alternative fuels.

Research/Areas of Interest:

    Dr. Kuo-En Ching specializes in the crustal deformation using geodetic observations. The geodetic data employed in his research comprises GNSS, precise leveling, traverse, and InSAR.
    His research primarily focuses on earthquake-related deformation analysis, creeping faults, mobile shale, seismic hazard assessment, volcanic deformation, land subsidence, and the construction of a semi-dynamic geodetic datum in Taiwan.
    His major study areas include Taiwan, Leyte and Masbate in the Philippines, the Indian Himalayas, as well as Java and Sumatra in Indonesia.

    Dr. Chun-Yen Liu’s research interests encompass biomaterials, tissue engineering, functional polymers, and liquid crystal materials.
    For biomaterials, our work focuses on fabricating artificial soft tissues for in vitro observations and evaluations and trying to assist tissue regeneration for various purposes, including neuron regeneration, cartilage regeneration, hair regrowth, etc.
    Regarding liquid crystal materials, our work includes electro-optical devices, sensors, biomimetic actuators, which can be applied in daily life, food industries, and automation devices, etc.
